  • If you are mainly bothered by mosquitoes in the evening, or if you live near flood areas, the reason for the nuisance is most probably not the tiger mosquito, but house or flood mosquitoes.

In this case, it is necessary to add COto the BG-Mosquitaire trap to increase capture rates for these mosquito species. COis an important attractant for all mosquitoes species. CO2 can greatly increase the amount of captured mosquito species and maximize the capture rate (also for tiger mosquitoes). Through our BG-Booster CO2, the CO2 is released from a specialized emitter nozzle which is designed to optimize the dispersal. The release rate corresponds to the rate a small child releases.

The pressure of the CO2 emission can be adjusted to the local and seasonal mosquito situation with the specialized pressure reducing regulator. We recommend a flow rate of 0.5 kg/day (red marker on the display of the pressure regulator) for normal and high mosquito nuisance.

In order to supply the trap with the CO2 attractant, a commercially available CO2 gas cylinder with six or more kilograms is required. The gas bottle is not included in the contents. The bottle can be acquired or rented at drink retailers or bottle depots for a deposit.

The pressure reducing regulator follows the technical standards valid in the United States of America and has the connection thread CGA320.

We also recommend to purchase the BG-CO2 Timer in order to reduce the CO2 consumption.

Here you find more information on why to upgrade on CO2: https://us.biogents.com/why-upgrade-to-carbon-dioxide/

  • The BG-Booster CO2 set includes 1x CO2 tube (5 m), 1x Biogents CO2 emitter nozzle, and 1x pressure reducing regulator with pressure gauge.
The pressure reducing regulator follows the technical standards valid in the United States of America and has the connection thread CGA320.

The gas bottle is not included in the contents.

Note for the set-up of the pressure regulator onto the CO2 cylinder:
Please make sure that you attach the small white sealing ring of the pressure reducing regulator for the CO2 cylinder before screwing it onto the cylinder.
Otherwise, the CO2 can escape unhindered within a very short time.
The sealing ring is located on a small hook directly on the pressure regulator.
